It's Official!

Welcome to 2011!

For the new year,  I decided to delete the old blog and start fresh for the new year and new racing season. 2011 has already brought a lot of new happenings in my life, so I felt it was necessary for a new blog and new adventures to document.

I am now living in Charlotte, North Carolina, working for TrySports and Louie's Kids, while being an assistant track coach at Ardrey Kell High School. TrySports is a specialty running/triathlon store and Louie's Kids is a non-profit out of Charleston, South Carolina, fighting childhood obesity one kid at a time. Both jobs are very rewarding in being able to spread my love of running and living a healthy lifestyle with those I come in contact. Louie's Kid's is fighting a cause, I was so dedicated to while interning at the American Heart Association.

Living in a new place, means a whole new race selection to explore as well as new running routes throughout the Queen City. I have welcomed back hills into my routine, which has been tough after running along the flat lake front path all summer.  Below are the first few races of the season.
  • April 2: Cooper River Bridge Run, Charleston, Sc
  • April 16: South Park Racefest Half Marathon, Charlotte, Nc
Hopefully these will be two good, fun races to start off the season with. Stay tuned for the laughs, most likely tears, set backs and gains that is long distance running, and hopefully a PR or two!

  1. Maybe you can give me some pointers on starting to run? I'm doing too much elliptical!
