1st 8 miler done!

First and foremost, I want to take the time and give a shout out to the lady driving the gold Lexus who decided after she turned into the left lane on Colony, a four lane road with no one on it today at 9am, to move into the right lane once she saw me, and slowed to a creep to yell at me to get onto the sidewalk. Thanks for caring about my safety. Maybe you should go find all the cyclists in Charlotte and let me know they need to ride on the sidewalk too! Hope to see you again next weekend, same time, same place.

I had a fantastic 8 mile run today. The weather was a little cooler than it had been these past few days making it for a chiller start at 9am, but once I got moving I was dressed perfectly. I picked a route that gave me a good loop with a few hills threw in there. The hills where a lot steeper than I was expecting, but still gave me a good challenge. As I got to the corner of Carmel and Sharon View, I looked at my watch and time read about 44 minutes. Turns out when I mapped it later at home, I was almost to mile 5! I still have a hard time realizing that I have shaved off a lot of time of my pace since I began running 5 years ago. It's hard to believe I once ran a 35 min 5k. Overall I ran 8 miles is 74 min!! I felt fantastic and didn't walk through any of it.

The one downside of the run, was that I could feel I need new shoes. My heels were hurting and I felt like I could feel the pavements below me, but new shoes were ordered this past thursday, and I can't wait for them to get here!!
